The review looked into giving businesses the power to seek civil injunctions against 鈥copycat packaging鈥. We have decided not to grant this enforcement power.
There would be unintended consequences on enforcement and an increase in litigation cases. More generally, it would be difficult to grant this power with the government鈥檚 deregulatory objectives.

The review considers the case for granting businesses the power of civil injunction in relation to 鈥榗opycat packaging鈥. Copycat packaging is when packaging is designed to give a product the 鈥榣ook and feel鈥 of a competing well-known brand.
