The consultation paper 鈥業mplementing increases to selected court and tribunal fees鈥 was聽published in November 2023.
The consultation invited comments on the proposal to increase a selection of court and tribunal fees by 10% to partially reflect changes in the consumer price index (CPI) since 2021, the last time that fees were increased.

Consultation description
This consultation proposes changes to selected court and tribunal fees, which aim to contribute to the continuous improvement of His Majesty鈥檚 Courts and Tribunals Service and reduce the cost to the taxpayer to fund its services. 聽
The proposals discussed in this consultation are to:
- make increases to a selection of court and tribunal fees from 2024
- make routine updates to fees every two years
- set the council tax liability order fee under the Lord Chancellor鈥檚 鈥榚nhanced鈥 power with a view to retaining its 拢0.50p value.
