拢1 billion extra funding for schools in England
Investment will provide funding for new school places in areas experiencing the greatest pressures on places over the next two years.

The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister this morning visited Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Primary School in Brixton to announce an extra 拢1 billion investment in schools in England as part of tomorrow鈥檚 Autumn Statement.
This investment will provide funding for new school places in areas experiencing the greatest pressures on places over the next two years. It will allow the expansion of existing good schools and includes enough funding to build up to 100 new Free Schools and Academies. The 拢1聽billion聽announced today is in addition to over 拢4 billion of investment in school places already planned over the Spending Review period.
The funding will come from within 拢5 billion of capital investment that the Chancellor and Chief Secretary informed the Cabinet of this morning.
