Foreign affairs聽adviser聽to join broadcaster鈥檚 governing body.

Former Middle East Envoy Lord Williams of Baglan has been appointed to the , Culture Secretary has announced.
Lord Williams, who was most recently United Nations Under Secretary General for the Middle East, will be appointed for four years from 1 December.
He has previously served as a Special Adviser on the Middle East to former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and has been a Special Adviser and Middle East Envoy for the UK Government. He has also worked as an editor for the BBC World Service.
鈥淟ord Williams has had a distinguished career in the world of diplomacy and foreign affairs,鈥 Mr Hunt said. 鈥淗e will bring a wealth of international experience to the BBC Trust and I am pleased he is joining the Board.鈥
The BBC Trust is made up of twelve members including the Chairman. It is the governing body of the BBC, responsible for representing the interests of licence fee payers.
