Located at the Halifax Citadel, a National Historic Site of Canada, this temporary office is designed to highlight what makes the UK a great place to visit and do business. It will also serve as a hub for a week-long series of events which will underline the extensive connections between the UK and Atlantic Canada.

This marks the first time the British High Commission, UK Trade & Investment, , and have partnered to host such an event in Canada.

鈥淭his is an exciting opportunity for us to showcase the UK鈥檚 strength in business, education, and research, while re-energizing our relationship with the governments, universities and businesses on Canada鈥檚 east coast,鈥� said British High Commissioner to Canada Howard Drake.

A trade delegation of 30 representatives from 20 British companies, including a large group from the defence and security sectors, will also visit Halifax during the week.

鈥淭rade between the UK and Atlantic Canada is particularly strong, but we want it to continue to grow,鈥� said the high commissioner. 鈥淭hese companies will be in Halifax looking to identify joint ventures with companies based in Atlantic Canada.鈥�

British Pop-up Consulate, Tuesday 4 March to Friday 7 March

Pop in and discover how the British government works with Canada, and what makes the UK a great place to visit and do business. Located at The North Magazine, Halifax Citadel and open from 10am to 4pm.

鈥楤ritain: Past, Present, and Future鈥� tour, Tuesday 4 March to Thursday 6 March

Take a journey back in time and discover the many military connections between the UK and Halifax on display at Citadel Hill National Historic Site of Canada. This special free tour from the Halifax Citadel Regimental Association will only be offered this week. The tours start at 11am and 1pm and begin at The North Magazine, Halifax Citadel.

Science is GREAT marine energy discussion, Tuesday 4 March

Ocean waves could someday power your house, and both Canada and the UK are playing a large role in making it happen. Join us for a special discussion as we take a closer look at this cutting edge field featuring experts from both sides of the Atlantic. The event starts at 2pm at the Industrial Engineering Building (MA 120), Dalhousie University. .

Open house for British Nationals, Tuesday 4 March

Are you a Brit living in Atlantic Canada? Our consular team wants to meet with you. This open house is a great chance to get the latest information on the services we offer to British citizens living in Canada, including emergency passports and help in a crisis. The open house runs from 2pm to 5pm at The North Magazine, Halifax Citadel.

Canada-UK trade discussion, Wednesday 5 March

Learn about the trade relationship between Canada and the UK, ask the experts your questions, and hear about new opportunities for business. The discussion starts at 1:30pm at University Hall, 3rd floor Macdonald Building, Dalhousie University.

Study in the UK open house, Wednesday 5 March

Dream of studying in the UK? You are not alone. Thousands of Canadians do it every year. Come and meet staff from the British Council and representatives from St George鈥檚 University of London, the University of the Arts London, the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and Northumbria University. The open house is from 3pm to 6pm at The North Magazine, Halifax Citadel.

鈥楻oyal Connections鈥� exhibit tour, Thursday 6 March

Before glossy magazines and social media, these prints, drawings, and sculpture helped connect monarchs with the masses. From Henry VII to George II, discover Nova Scotia鈥檚 royal connections with a special behind the scenes visit from the exhibit鈥檚 curator. The exhibit will be open from 5pm to 9pm at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. The curator tour begins at 7pm. Admission is free.

Live 105鈥檚 British Re-invasion, Thursday 6 March

You could call it a maritime rock n鈥� roll party with a British twist! Together with the Lower Deck Historic Properties, Halifax Pop Explosion, and The Coast and supported by Cunard Line, is thrilled to bring together some of Nova Scotia鈥檚 best musical talent, including and , to celebrate great British music and help local charities. Come down and cheer for your favourite band. The concert starts at 8pm at the Lower Deck Historic Properties. Admission is a donation at the door.

British film screening, Friday 7 March

Film fans know British cinema is among the world鈥檚 best, and 鈥楾he Selfish Giant鈥� is no exception. We are thrilled to be partnering with The Carbon Arc, Halifax鈥檚 only independent cinema, to screen this beautiful and heartfelt fable. The film was nominated for Best British Film at the 2014 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs). The film begins at 7pm at the Carbon Arc Cinema. Tickets are $7 and can be .
