Foreign Office condemns attacks on police headquarters in Northern Iraq
The FCO has condemned yesterday's attacks on Iraqi security forces in Kirkuk and calls on Iraq鈥檚 leaders to send out a strong message against violence.

Commenting on the coordinated attacks on police headquarters in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk which killed 30 people and wounded more than 70 others, a Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesperson said:
鈥淵esterday鈥檚 appalling attack in Kirkuk was perpetrated by extremists who have no regard for human life and Iraq鈥檚 peace, stability and prosperity. We condemn such attacks on the Iraqi police and security forces, and are shocked by the loss of life, in this case including many civilians. We continue to stand by the Government of Iraq and all parties committed to Iraq鈥檚 democratic and peaceful future, and call on all Iraq鈥檚 leaders to send out a strong and united message condemning violence and supporting the rule of law.鈥
