Foreign Office Minister comments on the result of the Khodorkovsky appeal

Minister for Europe David Lidington has expressed concerns about the application of the rule of law in Russia on the outcome of Mr Khodorkovsky鈥檚 appeal.

Speaking today, Mr Lidington said:

鈥淭he failure of Mr Khodorkovsky and Mr Lebedev鈥檚 appeal has again highlighted concerns about the application of the rule of law in Russia. The UK believes that Russia鈥檚 people are best served by a fair and impartial judicial system which protects the legal rights of all individuals - and ensures international investor confidence.鈥�
