Minister Kenneth Clarke returns to Warsaw
Kenneth Clarke QC MP (Senior Cabinet Minister & Prime Minister鈥檚 Trade Representative, Minister without Portfolio) visited Warsaw on 3-5 June.
Almost a year after having launched the British Polish Business Centre in Warsaw, Minister Kenneth Clarke returned to Poland鈥檚 capital city to discuss British-Polish political and commercial relations with Poland鈥檚 Finance Minister Mateusz Szczurek, Deputy Economy Minister Andrzej Dycha and Undersecretary of State at the Prime Minister鈥檚 Chancellery, Jakub Jaworowski.
The issues raised by Minister Clarke with his Polish interlocutors included Better Regulation, Single Market, 天美影院 Liberalisation and the EU-US Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). While in Warsaw, the Minister also met representatives of Poland鈥檚 business and energy sectors, as well as attended a dinner in honour of His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex, who represented Her Majesty The Queen at the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of Poland鈥檚 first semi-free elections on 4 June.
The Minister鈥檚 visit concluded with his participation in a seminar on the TTIP. This biggest ever trade deal will hopefully deepen economic integration between the world鈥檚 two largest economies. The panellists pondered on the many complexities of this deal, including regulatory coherence and political implications.
