Tackling discrimination in football

Kick It Out, football鈥檚 body for equality and inclusion publish their annual report with representation and vigilance as the focus.

Minister for Sport and the Olympics Hugh Robertson today joined with chair Lord Herman Ouseley and leading figures from the world of football to launch their 聽(pdf) and celebrate聽the campaign, that took the inclusion message up and down the country in October.

鈥淜ick It Out has made huge strides in the past 16 years, thanks in no small part from all the game鈥檚 key authorities joining us in a collective effort to root out unacceptable behaviour,鈥澛爏aid Mr Ouseley.聽

Celebrating diversity

Hosting the event, said, 鈥淚 applaud the important work Kick It Out has done to bring people together in diverse communities up and down the country. However there is still more that can be done. I want to see better representation for ethnic minorities at all levels in the game as I do right across the sporting landscape.鈥

is supported and funded by the game鈥檚 governing bodies, including the Professional Footballers Association, the Premier League and The Football Association.
