Lindsay Mason

Biography
Lindsay is Interim Government Chief Data Officer leading the Government Digital Service (GDS) data strategy to improve data maturity throughout its lifecycle. She works closely with Chief Data Officers across government to drive innovation and champion better access to data, supporting more informed decision-making and improved public services.
Prior to joining GDS, Lindsay spent 3 years at the Ministry of Defence, where she led Data and Information Management, Governance, and Skills and Culture.
Before entering the Civil Service in 2022, Lindsay held senior roles in the private sector, where she gained extensive experience in data strategy, leadership, and transformation.
Interim Government Chief Data Officer
The interim Government Chief Data Officer is responsible for fostering a sustainable, data-centric culture across government and the wider public sector.
They also lead the development and implementation of the government-wide data strategy, promote common data standards, and enhance data sharing across departments and the Government Data and Digital (GDaD) community.
