In December 2024, the government announced funding to support local authorities with the costs of undertaking Green Belt reviews. The purpose of this funding is to ensure that local authorities are well-equipped and supported to implement the changes in the revised National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).聽
Eligible local authorities were invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) form by 17 January 2025 to request a share of this funding. All EOIs have been reviewed. 134 local authorities have been awarded a share of 拢9.38 million Green Belt review funding.聽
In addition to this funding, the government has announced funding to support with local plan delivery. Local authorities at Regulation 19 stage were invited to submit an EOI by 17 January, and local authorities at Regulation 18 are invited to submit an EOI by 28 February. Further information and eligibility criteria for the Regulation 18 funding.
We will announce which local authorities have been awarded local plan delivery funding in due course.
