This guidance is for:

  • colleges
  • academy trusts
  • subsidiaries of colleges and academy trusts

Colleges include:

  • further education corporations (FE colleges)
  • sixth-form college corporations
  • designated institutions, established or designated under section 28 of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992

It should be read by:

  • college and academy trust principals, accounting officers, chief executives, and finance directors
  • college governors
  • academy trustees
  • college and academy trust governance professionals (sometimes referred to 鈥檆lerks鈥 or 鈥榙irectors of governance鈥)
