Health insurance

Health insurance is mandatory in Slovakia to cover medical expenses or you will have to pay for medical treatment. You will either need a foreign insurance policy which covers medical expenses in Slovakia, or get insurance locally.

There are 3 health insurance companies in Slovakia which offer insurance to holders of local residence/registration cards. You might be asked to show these along with your British passport to get health insurance.
