These statistics were previously called Renewable fuel statistics and have been renamed to Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) statistics as of February 2025, due to the publication of聽sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) Mandate statistics. The previous renewable fuel statistics can still be accessed from their old URLs.
Statistics on the supply of renewable road transport and non-road mobile machinery fuels, reported under the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) for 2024, based on data available as of 29 July 2025.
This is the fifth of 5 provisional reports for 2024 and contains an incomplete dataset for the year. Following all 5 provisional reports, the complete and finalised dataset will be published in November 2025 alongside the final report for 2024.
The report and accompanying tables include information on the:
- amount of UK road transport fuel from renewable and fossil fuel
- number of Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs) which have been issued to fuel meeting the sustainability requirements
- balance of聽RTFCs聽by obligation period
- trades of聽RTFCs聽between suppliers and traders
- carbon and sustainability characteristics of the renewable fuel to which聽RTFCs聽have been issued
- voluntary scheme data of renewable transport fuel
