Comparing 2025 Quarter 1 (January to March) with 2024 Quarter 1 (January to March), in the UK there were:

  • 732,000 vehicles registered for the first time, an increase of 2%
  • 129,000 vehicles registered for the first time that were zero emission, an increase of 41%

At the end of March 2025, in the UK, there were:

  • 41.9 million licensed vehicles
  • 1,517,000 licensed zero emission vehicles
