Stop Companies House from providing your personal details

You can ask Companies House to:

  • remove personal details from the public register
  • withhold your address from credit reference agencies, in certain circumstances

You鈥檒l need to apply and pay for each of these separately.

Remove details from the public register

You can ask Companies House to remove:

  • your home address if you鈥檝e used it as a correspondence, service or registered office address
  • the day of the month from your date of birth (for documents filed before 10 October 2015)
  • your signature
  • your business occupation

You can ask for these details to be removed from the public register and from publicly available documents. Check the to find out which documents contain personal details.

Companies House may keep specific information in the register, for example any part of a certified copy of a deed, debenture or mortgage charge.

It costs 拢30 to remove your details from each document. Payment details are on the form.

Apply to have your address withheld from credit reference agencies

You can only do this if you鈥檙e at risk of violence or intimidation because of your company鈥檚 work. You need to provide proof such as:

  • a crime reference number if you鈥檝e been attacked
  • documentary evidence of a threat or attack, such as photos or recordings
  • evidence of possible disruption or targeting, such as by animal rights or other activists
  • evidence that you work for an organisation whose activities put you at risk
